I am sooo relieved to see SX live and running.
I have to say I'm relieved and excited all at the same time. SiteXero is a living reality. It's taken some time, some trials and tribulations, but it's finally here and we are well on our way. I developed a solution and yet while I usually creation to update this very site, to produce this very post, I can't help but sit here with a smile on my face as I see it perform.
It's strange. Probably more for me than anyone else because I know and understand each process, function, and feature a very intimate ways. Seeing SiteXero in operation impresses upon me a strange feeling similar to a mixture between fear and pride. My fear, but by the time anybody truly begins to appreciate what I've accomplished here SiteXero will already be out of date. My pride, comes from knowing that not only did I do a good job, but that we have given birth to something that is truly useful, and they can help the individual or small business go head-to-head with larger sites. The emerging Web is one where personality dominates over corporate presence, and SiteXero provides the tools and functionality to assist those personalities and claiming their space on the web.
It is not a direct rival to open source and commercial content management solutions. SiteXero is an alternative type of website management solution. It is the data, code, images, and function of a philosophy that is only now beginning to manifest his reality on the Internet. With so much hype about Web 2.0, social networking, and content syndication that time has become ripe for solutions such as SiteXero to emerge and carve their positions into the fabric of the online world.
A SiteXero user is empowered in ways that a lot of content management solutions fail. Features in the solution allow for a degree of personality, sociability, and interaction that most competitor solutions fail to acknowledge let alone touch. It won't be that way forever. I'm more than convinced that relatively sooner rather than later other solution providers will catch on and follow suit. I'm not saying that SiteXero is the only solution to support these features, but at the time of this posting, is the only one to have all of these features integrated into one solution. But what does the future hold for SiteXero?
One, availability. SiteXero is currently not a publicly available solution. It is part and parcel to the services that SiteXero team provides. In other words, customers and clients receive SiteXero. In the future it will be made available for purchase and download, support and licensing. The terms and conditions surrounding this type of availability are currently being discussed at this time. So, that future may manifest in a relatively short amount of time.
Two, features. SiteXero currently, and natively, and in an integrated fashion already offers a slew of features that a great number of website owners and developers are currently looking for. But there is so much more in the works. SiteXero will have available to it specific stand-alone extensions to its already impressive feature list. Designed and developed under the same philosophy and ideals, these extensions will be able to function independently of SiteXero, or in tandem. It will be the users choice. I would love to tell you about some of the exciting extensions were working on right now, but I can't tip my hat just yet.
Three, community. SiteXero currently supports a degree of sociability it has hardly been entertained by other solutions. The future promises an even greater degree of sociability and community between users of SiteXero and their visitors. SiteXero will become a tool for enhanced and enriched community experiences. Collaboration features and social sharing features will catapult SiteXero and websites running on it into new areas of human networking and interaction on the web.
But I'm getting ahead of myself now. And I don't want to imply or suggest anything that might be coming down the pipes farther off in the future. I just wanted to take an opportunity to say I'm excited and relieved to see SiteXero live.
